Overview

Why homeowners choose IronWrap for metal tiles

Metal tile roofing combines the timeless aesthetics of traditional clay or concrete tile with the engineering of modern steel. We import directly from reputable European manufacturers known for the quality and consistency of their virgin metal — every panel, every batch. Within our metal roofing range, tiles sit alongside standing seam and metal shingles.

Unlike traditional tile, metal tile won't crack, warp, freeze-thaw apart, or absorb water. It handles heavy rain, snow load, hail, and sustained high winds — performance characteristics tested against the climatic load tables in the National Research Council's National Building Code of Canada — and is naturally resistant to rot, mildew, and insects. Properly installed and lightly maintained, the system can last 50 to 100 years.

Choose from terra cotta, Mediterranean red, brown, grey, and modern slate finishes — each with the textured, stamped tile profile that gives a roof real architectural presence. Every install includes custom flashings, sub-framing for ventilation, and our installation warranty.

Common Questions

Metal Tiles FAQs

Quick answers to what homeowners ask before they sign on for metal tiles.

See all FAQs
How is metal tile different from clay or concrete tile?+

Metal tile gives you the same Mediterranean / European look at about 1/8th the weight, with no risk of cracking or freeze-thaw failure. Real clay tile in Alberta is rare for good reason — it cracks. Metal tile gives you the look without the failure mode.

What pitches can metal tile be installed on?+

Best for pitches between 4:12 and 18:12. The interlocking tile profile sheds water effectively at moderate slopes and grips well on steeper roofs. For very low pitch (under 3:12), we recommend standing seam instead.

What colours are most popular?+

Euro Brown is consistently our most-installed colour, followed by Mediterranean Red and Cherry Red for warmer architectural styles. Grey and Charcoal are increasingly popular on contemporary builds.

Where do you source the tiles from?+

We import directly from reputable European manufacturers — the same mills that supply Mediterranean and Northern European projects. Every batch is virgin steel, never re-rolled scrap.
